FT/PT: Full time. Candidate will start June 18, 2012 as a part time. Candidate will move to full time position July 2, 2012.
Compensation: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
Job Description: Answer phone calls and help clients in need of child care in Salt Lake and Tooele areas. Maintain accurate information of regulated providers in the Statewide Database to provide useful referrals to families. Initial training, on-going supervision and all materials will be provided by Child Care Resource & Referral ~ Metro program director.
Qualifications: Computer and internet proficiency required. Experience in an office and in the Child Care field preferred.
Duties will include:
- Take incoming calls from clients who are looking for child care and resources pertaining to child care.
- Provide clients with child care referrals according to their needs, utilizing a customized child care database.
- Counsel clients about how to choose a quality child care environment and send out educational materials and child development information.
- Trouble-shoot and give additional options to clients regarding their child care situation as needed.
- Gather program information from new providers, update current child care provider files, and input data on child care referral database.
- Maintain knowledge regarding community resources for clients and providers.
- Ensure that the client has all the information that we have access to, including other community resources as needed.
- Assist with outreach events in the community to advertise services.
- Assist in preparation of mailings to providers and clients.
- Update as necessary and ensure accuracy of Child Care Resource & Referral ~ Metro website.

Child Care Resource & Referral ~ Metro
Resource Lending Library Specialist

PT: Part time. Candidate will start July 1, 2012.
Compensation: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
Job Description: Oversee the efficient operation of Child Care Resource & Referral ~ Metro’s Lending Library Program, web and internet resources. Initial training, on-going supervision and all materials will be provided by Child Care Resource & Referral ~ Metro Recruitment Coordinator.
Job Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Computer and internet proficiency required. Experience in an office and, 2 years experience working directly with children.
Duties Will Include:
- Oversee the operations of the Lending Library
- Maintain memberships
- Work with host sites for providers to have easier access to the Lending Library.
- Maintain inventory
- Develop and coordinate additional resources for providers such as monthly Resource Night, laminating, die cutting and binding.
- Develop a quarterly newsletter to send to current library members.
- Assist with outreach events in the community to advertise services.
- Update Child Care Resource & Referral ~ Metro website as necessary to ensure accuracy.

Job Description: The Volunteer Coordinator provides professional staff support to CSS volunteers, ensuring that children involved with the CSS program receive sound advocacy and early permanency planning. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for volunteer supervision and coordination of cases.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree preferred. Family and consumer studies or early childhood, business and motivation/coordination people background helpful.
- Strong computer and Excel skills
- The ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles—experience with volunteers preferred.
- The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities
- Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect given preference
- Commitment to CSS program’s goals and mission
- Ability to communicate with co-workers in an effective manner
- Ability to work on a team environment
- Ensure that all client information is kept confidential and paperwork is kept in locked filing cabinets
- Follow social work and school ethics guidelines
- Follow policies and procedures
- Maintain professional appearance and manner
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Compassionate work with high risk families preferred
Duties Will Include:
- Place ads in volunteer directories to recruit volunteers to serve as home visitors for the program
- Work with community agencies to recruit volunteers
- Provide basic volunteer training
- Set up files and track volunteer hours
- Supervise volunteers and coordinate schedule
- Attend meetings and report progress and challenges with clientele
