Adoption Related Services

volunteer_buttondonate_buttonChildren's Service Society began in October 1884 as a day care facility. Within two weeks, CSS became an orphanage when an unwed mother with a baby in her arms knocked on our door looking for a place to stay. Since that beginning, we have provided services to thousands of mothers with unintended pregnancies and thousands of children who have needed permanent families.

04Due to changes in adoption services, we are no longer a child placing agency. We are committed to the mission of adoption and aiding families in bringing children into their homes through Home Studies. We provide Domestic home studies for a fee of $1000 and International home studies for a fee of $1500. Post Placement Services are provided at a fee of $250 per visit and report.

We also provide Services for Attorneys working with private adoptions. We firmly believe that all parties' rights, dignity and well being must be looked at in the adoption process. That means the needs of the birth parents, adoptive family and the child must be taken into consideration when an adoption is considered. Attorneys are able to contract with Children's Service Society in assisting with birth parent services to make the adoption experience positive for all involved.

01Many adoptees have a desire to know about their background. Adoption record information is available for a fee of $50 for all services up to 1 hour of staff time and $50 for each additional hour in researching adoption records and extracting the desired information. Non-Identifying Information reports are available for a fee of $75.

It is common for members of the adoption triad (birth parents, adoptive parents and adoptees) to have questions or need support later on in life. Adoptees often have questions about their adoption and the circumstances in which they were placed. They also wonder about their biological family. Birth parents often think about the child they placed for adoption many years ago and wonder how that person is doing today. Through our Contact and Reunion program, adoptees and/or birth parents are able to participate in our Connections program, a confidential intermediary search and reunion service for biological family members, for a fee of $250.

In addition to the above services, Children's Service Society is licensed in providing training about infant adoption through the Infant Adoption Training Initiative. This free training is provided for health care professionals and social workers throughout the state of Utah.
