Q: A parent contacted me and asked if I accept "state assistance." What is that?
A: The Department of Workforce Services offers a program called "Payment to Parent" where they can help qualifying parents pay for their child care expenses. Their requirement for dispersing the funds is that the parents choose a provider who is regulated through the Bureau of Child Care Licensing. You must contact the Department of Workforce Services Subsidy Department in order to get set up to accept this form of payment. We recommend that you contact DWS for complete details before enrolling any parents who are receiving state assistance.
Q: I haven’t been receiving any phone calls from parents recently. Why?
A: It is possible that your program information on the referral database needs to be updated. Contact our Referral Department at 801-355-4847 or 866-438-4847 and speak with a Referral Specialist right away. If your information is up to date, it is possible that you are not offering the most requested services in your area. Our Referral Specialists can look at your information with you and give you an idea of what might help to get you more phone calls.

A: All classes must be registered and paid for through the US mail and received no later than two business days before the class begins. Registration forms are mailed to all licensed providers listed in the CCR&R database and to anyone who has requested to be on the mailing list. A: Each participant has individual class schedule needs according to their educational, Career Ladder, or licensing requirements. Q: How do I register for a make-up session?
A: Registration for make up classes is only done by mail. Participants may register to make up two sessions or less of a 10 hour/4 session class free of charge. To register for a make up class fill out a registration form, mark the class you need your make-up in, and then write make-up to the side of the class title. If more than two sessions need to be made up for a 10 hour/4session class, the participant must re-register for the full class by mailing in a new registration form and full payment.

A: Replacement certificates for Career Ladder courses can be obtained by mailing a letter stating the name of the class a replacement certificate is needed for and a check or money order in the amount of $5 for each certificate (the $5 charge is per class and per certificate).The request should include all necessary registration information such as: name of class the certificate is for, full name, birth date, and current mailing address. Q: What are my options for enrolling in classes if the CCR&R classes are full and I need licensing hours by a certain date?
A: Half of the hours required by the Bureau of Licensing must be completed in a class. There are other options available to obtain some of the necessary training hours outside of CCR&R classes. Q: How do I withdraw from a class I am enrolled in?
A: To completely withdraw from a course please call 801-326-4403 at least two business days before a class begins (exception for emergencies). CCR&R Metro is unable to refund payments received to purchase a course. If the class is full and has a waiting list CCR&R will attempt to fill the spot by calling participants on the waiting list. If the open spot is filled by someone from the waiting list, a credit voucher will be mailed to the participant who cancelled the class. If CCR&R is unable to fill the spot a credit voucher will not be issued.
Q: How do I know how many hours I have for Bureau of Licensing hours needed for license renewal?
A: Classes that have been attended can be viewed by logging on to the Training Registry and viewing transcripts. To access information on the Training Registry a username and password are required. To obtain a username and password a participant can request it when registering for class on the registration form or call 801-326-4403.
