Hi. I’m Carolyn and I am the program Director at Care About Childcare at Children’s Service Society of Utah. I started my love of working with children and families when I was a Head Start parent! I volunteered in the classroom, and I loved it…Fast forward a few years-- I attended the University of Utah (I was on the 10-year plan) and finally graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Five years later I received a Master of Professional Communication degree from Westminster College. I have worked as an Early Childhood professional in many capacities over 25 years; at Head Start and Early Head Start, private childcare, Salt Lake School district schools and as adjunct faculty at Salt Lake Community College.
I joined the team at Children’s Service Society of Utah as a Care About Childcare Professional Development Instructor in 2012. In 2017 I took a full-time position as the Professional Development Coordinator. In 2020 I joined the agency’s leadership team as the Care About Childcare Program Director.
As an early childhood education professional, I am passionate about increasing the quality of early education and childcare by providing resources and education to early childhood education professionals and childcare providers and supporting parents are responsibilities I take seriously in my role as a Care About Childcare Program Director.
