CSS Highlighted in Research on Intergenerational Caregiving

Children’s Service Society of Utah (CSS) is proud to be connected to the recently published article, “Intergenerational Caregiving Teams: Reconceptualizing Youth Caregivers in Kinship Care with Aging Adults to Inform Service Delivery.” This research brings important attention to families in kinship care where caregiving responsibilities are shared across generations.

The article reframes caregiving by recognizing “intergenerational caregiving teams,” in which youth and aging adults support one another, and explores how these family dynamics should inform more responsive services and policies.

CSS’s work through the GRANDfamilies program closely aligns with these findings. As Utah’s only dedicated kinship care support program, GRANDfamilies serves relatives raising children and addresses the complex, intergenerational realities many families face. This publication reinforces the importance of continued advocacy, research, and community-based support for kinship families. You can open the article in a new tab by clicking here.
